Today in Bluejay History (4/2)

April 2, 1971 — Larry LeMaster throws the second recorded no-hitter in Creighton baseball history.

During a 10-0 win against Doan, LeMaster threw 7 innings of no-hit baseball. While it was the second no-hitter in Jays history, LeMaster’s effort eclipsed Ray Blusiewicz’s 5-inning no-no from the previous season.

No other Bluejay recorded a no-hitter until the Missouri Valley Conference tournament last spring, when Brandon Koenigstein no-hit the host Wichita State Shockers in a 7-inning win.
