Today in Bluejay History (4/30)

April 30, 2005 — Creighton softball drops a doubleheader in Springfield.

Abby Johnson allowed just 1 run in 7 innings of work in the first game, but the Bluejays mustered just 3 hits against Missouri State and dropped the contest 1-0. The second game was also close, and Creighton took a 2-1 lead in extra innings. But the Bears put 2 runs on the board in the bottom of the 8th inning to win 3-2 and sweep the twin bill from CU.

The Jays would salvage the last game of the weekend series, drop a second consecutive series to end the regular season (vs. Wichita State), but then win four straight games in the MVC Tournament to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
