May 3, 2009 — Tara Oltman becomes the winningest pitcher in Missouri Valley Conference history.
Oltman, Creighton’s All-American pitcher, picked up her 85th career victory in the Jays’ regular-season finale against Wichita State. The win came in large part because of Michelle Graner’s big bat, as her two-out, two-strike home run in the bottom of the 10th inning gave Creighton and Oltman the win.
Oltman’s effort marked her 30th consecutive complete start.
