Creighton’s 10 championships in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, colloquially referred to as “Arch Madness”, are twice as many as any other team. That’s why its also been referred to as “The Creighton Invitational.”
To get properly excited and pumped up for this weekend, I thought it might be fun to relive some of Creighton’s greatest moments in the MVC Tournament, specifically the championship years of the Altman Era — so to that end, I put together this video package. Seeing Rodney Buford dunk on a fastbreak, Ryan Sears fight for a steal, Jimmy Motz drain three after three, Kyle Korver throw a bounce pass on a fastbreak to Joe Dabbert, and Nate Funk slay the Salukis should be enough to fire up any Bluejay fan. And if it isn’t, hearing the dulcet tones of Luther Vandross sing about shining moments should do the trick.
Ahem. Now then, lets go cheer on the Jays to an eleventh Arch Madness title this weekend! You bet.
