NCAA Tournament: Photo Gallery of Wichita State’s Historic Victory Over Kansas

What happens when you have in-state rivals who have not met in over 22 years in a nearby state hosting NCAA Tournament games?  You get a wild crowd, excited to see the matchup happen for the first time in a generation.  Kansas and Wichita State haven’t played each other in over two decades, but were finally forced to due to the NCAA Tournament.  It made for an electric crowd in Omaha.  The Shockers took it to the Jayhawks from the start and did not budge in a 73-65 victory on Sunday afternoon.

Tekele Cotton led five Shockers in double figures with 19 points while the team shot 10 of 20 from downtown in the victory.  The win propels the Shockers to the Midwest regional in Cleveland to take on Notre Dame on Thursday night.

WBR photographer Mike Spomer was there to capture the action.  Get your favorite photos from the game here, or see the photo slideshow below.
