On Deck: Creighton Bluejays Baseball vs. St. John’s Red Storm

Series Details

The Mother Nature Report

Potential rain forced the start of Friday’s series opener up to 5 p.m., making it increasingly difficult for workin’ folks to get there for the start. Hopefully Ed won’t mind. Seems like the wet stuff might be a worry for all weekend, too. Bummer.

  • Mid 70s at first pitch Friday night, with rain forecast in the evening
  • Mid 60s at first pitch Saturday afternoon, with rain forecast in the afternoon
  • High 50s at first pitch Sunday afternoon, with rain forecast for the afternoon

100-ish Words About St. John’s

The Red Storm are 15-5 in their last 20 games since getting swept at Oregon the first weekend of March. The hot stretch includes a 5-1 mark against Big East opponents Butler and Seton Hall, placing St. John’s atop the Big East leaderboard alongside the Bluejays. St. John’s ability to win on the road has been impressive as of late, winning their last seven roadies including sweeping the Bulldogs in Indianapolis. The preseason favorites in the Big East hope to pave their way to a regular season title with a good showing at TD Ameritrade Park this weekend, and then will travel back to Omaha with a tournament title on their minds a little over a month from now.
