The weather looked promising last weekend in Omaha, as did Creighton’s chances for a solid series against the visiting Illinois State Redbirds. Fresh off a forceful beat down of in-state rival Nebraska, the forecast for both sunshine and some CU wins seemed probable. But things didn’t turn out as planned.
Illinois State swept the Bluejays at the CU Sports Complex, leaving Ed Servais’ club in a precarious position in the Missouri Valley Conference standings (tied for 6th). WBR’s Adam Streur was at the final game of the series Sunday to document the action with his lens.
At least it was sunny.
