Photo Gallery: Creighton Falls To Georgetown in 2nd Game oF Weekend Series

The Creighton baseball team looked to build off of Friday night’s shutout against Georgetown on Saturday night, but it wasn’t meant to be as the Jays fell to the Hoyas 6-3 in the 7th annual Military and First Responders Celebratory Game.

A large crowd was on hand during a beautiful Saturday night, the fourth largest to watch the Bluejays play a game at TD Ameritrade Park.  After giving up a run in the first inning, the Bluejays quickly scored in their half and things looked to be settled in for the Jays to get another win.

However, Georgetown took the lead in the sixth inning and grabbed three more insurance runs in the top of the ninth, while the Creighton bats went mostly silent preventing a comeback.  The loss puts very little wiggle room for the Jays in the Big East race and drive to the postseason.  Creighton will try to take the rubber game on Sunday.

WBR photographer Mike Spomer was there for the game.  He captured some great photos, which you can purchase at the WBR Photo Store.  You can also take a look at the photo slideshow below.
