The Creighton Men’s Soccer team opened up the regular season in style on Friday night. The Bluejays scored a goal in the first half and a goal in the second half to get the 2-0 victory over #20 Stanford.
Ricky Lopez-Espin, in his first regular season game, got his Creighton career off to a great start with a goal in the 11th minute of an assist from Timo Pitter. Lopez-Espin then contributed an assist along with Christan Blandon early in the second half as Fabian Herbers scored in the 53rd minute to put Stanford in a two goal deficit and they never recovered.
Connor Sparrow has three saves off of Stanford shots and got the shutout for the Bluejays.
