Today in Bluejay History (3/4)

March 4, 2007 — Nate Funk and Creighton get back to the NCAA Tournament by (finally) defeating Southern Illinois.

After losing to Southern Illinois twice in the regular season by a combined 5 points, the Salukis stood in the way of Funk and the Bluejays returning to the NCAA Tournament. In front of an Arch Madness-record crowd at the Scottrade Center, #11 SIU would lead only once in the game while Funk paced the Jays with 19 points. He earned Most Outstanding Player honors for the tournament, and was joined on the all-tournament team by Anthony Tolliver and Nick Porter.
