Today in Bluejay History (9/10)

September 10, 2004 — Bob Warming takes his 2004 men’s soccer team to Las Vegas for a showdown against two top 20 teams. And in their first match of the weekend, the Bluejays upend one of the nation’s finest programs, UCLA.

The Jays wasted no time, getting a goal from Vince Odorisio just 26 seconds into the match. It was a cross intended for Matt Wieland, but a UCLA defender knocked it into his own net for the first tally. Goals by Joan Carvajal and Danny Minutillo rounded out the scoring for the 3-0-0 Jays.
