December 21, 2008 — Megan Neuvirth records 6 blocked shots against Colorado State, the second-highest single-game total in Creighton women’s basketball history.
Kris Kugel had 7 blocked shots at Northern Iowa on Dec. 20, 1991, a mark that stands alone as the best single-game performance in Creighton history. Neuvirth’s 6-block game was the third in CU history: Amy Hoffman had 6 against Oregon State in December 2004, and Jenny Olson had 6 at Missouri in December 1994.
The 6 blocks were just one part of a monster game for Neuvirth. In the 67-56 win against the Rams, the junior from West Point, Nebraska, scored 18 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, dished 5 assists, and gathered 3 steals.
Neuvirth began this season seventh on the school’s all-time rebounding list (714 total), and since then has moved into third place (780 total) behind Shannon Struby (824) and Pam Gradoville (924).
