Tim Krueger and Heath Gunderson, otherwise known as Bluejay Banter, announced today they are moving their radio show from 1620 the Zone to Big Sports 590 starting next week.
Tim and Health started the Bluejay Banter radio show this summer looking to replace some radio coverage on Creighton sports. Their guests have ranged from Creighton Athletic Director Bruce Rasmussen and men’s basketball coach Dana Altman to Omaha World-Herald writer Steve Pivovar and former Bluejays such as Jimmy Motz. 1620 the Zone carried the show Sundays from 10-11 a.m., and after pro football started in the fall from 9-10 a.m.
Tim and Heath will be moving to Big Sports 590 to host an hour-long show Mondays from 5-6 p.m. Big Sports 590 is the home of Creighton men’s basketball, and that could allow Banter to be involved with selected game day coverage as a part of the station.
White and Blue Review had an opportunity to catch up with Tim Krueger on the move:
“We are really excited to move to 590, the home of the Bluejays. We are going to have a lot of people on the show, with pretty much the same format we had at 1620. We will also take calls when we can and are excited about some pregame coverage as well. We enjoyed working with the people at 1620, but the time slot we were offered over at Big Sports 590 was something we couldn’t pass up.”
The final show on 1620 the Zone will be this Sunday, November 1, from 9-10 a.m. Update–we were informed that there will not be a final show on 1620 this Sunday. The new show will premiere on Big Sports 590 the next day at 5 p.m. And do not fear, the show will still be podcasted so you can still catch up and listen online later if you missed the show.
