The Creighton baseball team headed into the weekend with high hopes once again. After a solid Friday night 4-2 victory, the Bluejays set themselves up for an opportunity to take the weekend series. However, with a close 2-1 loss on Saturday night and a 3-0 loss on Sunday, the Creighton offense that has been ballyhooed all season again finish a weekend with the bats in silent mode.
Now, the Bluejays are in a sticky situation with one weekend series left to play and on the outside, looking in for even making the Big East Tournament, much less the NCAA postseason. Creighton will need to rely heavily on their successful non-conference season along with other non-conference games yet to come.
