Bluejay Beat: Creighton Welcomes UConn Back to the Big East With an OT Victory

The Creighton men’s basketball team finished up their three game week against UConn on Sunday.  The Bluejays came from behind to send the game in to overtime before getting the 76-74 victory in Storrs.

Creighton got off to a hot start to take an early double-digit lead.  By halftime UConn came back to make it close and it was that way throughout the rest of the game.

The Bluejays were down four points with 21 seconds left in regulation.  After a couple free throw misses, Creighton tied the game with .2 seconds left on an inbounds play basket to Damien Jefferson.  That propelled the Jays into overtime with momentum and they locked the Huskies down until a couple baskets at the end closed out the 2 point victory.

Matt DeMarinis and former Bluejay PG Maurice Watson, Jr., got together to talk for the Bluejay Beat postgame podcast.  Take a listen.
