The Creighton women’s basketball team didn’t go to Greensboro, NC just to show up in the program’s first Sweet 16. They did more than that and upset the #3 seeded and 10th ranked Iowa St. with a 76-68 victory and the program’s first trip to the Elite 8.
Morgan Maly had a career high 21 points and Tatum Rembao hit key 3-pointers in the second half putting in 19 points of her own in the victory. The breakout third quarter was the difference and created the momentum to get the opportunity to play South Carolina on Sunday with a Final Four bid on the line.
