The Creighton men’s basketball team hit the road, overcame a 16-point deficit in the second half, and swept the season series against Seton Hall for the second straight season on Wednesday night. Mitch Ballock scored 29 points, the biggest shot giving the Bluejays the lead with 37 seconds left, as the Bluejays defeated Seton Hall 85-81.
Creighton and Seton Hall went back and forth in the first half as both teams were on fire from the field from behind the arc. The Pirates got several extra free throws off of fouls and went into halftime with a 10 point lead. Seton Hall scored 54 points in the first half, which was more than the first meeting a few weeks ago.
The Bluejays came out in the second half really cold as they went 1-of-12 to start the half, along with 1-of-11 from three. Fortunately, the Pirates were just about as cold from the field and only extended their lead to 16. The Bluejays started mounting a comeback at the 11:30 mark and ended up finishing the game going 7-of-8 from three along with the final three field goals of the game from Denzel Mahoney, Marcus Zegarowski, and Mitch Ballock coming from behind the arc. In the end, the Bluejays walk out of the Prudential Center with the victory.
