The Creighton men’s basketball team headed out to New York for the beginning of their postseason run to play the Big East Tournament.  The Bluejays started off in the quarterfinals rolling over Butler 87-56 on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.

Marcus Zegarowski dribbled around the Butler defense, slicing and dicing them up with 18 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals to lead the way for the Bluejays.  Damien Jefferson set the tone in the first half, scoring all 14 of his points and Christian Bishop chipped in 10 points for the three Bluejays in double figures.  Creighton’s bench also contributed outscoring Butler’s bench 34-10.

Creighton now faces off against a hot UConn team on Friday night in the Big East semifinals.  In the meantime, Matt DeMarinis and former Creighton men’s basketball player, Tyler Clement, got together for the Bluejay Beat postgame podcast, Presented by Courtdate.  They discussed the game, the cohesiveness of the Bluejays among all the things they went through over the past 10 days, and how they can keep rolling.  Take a listen!
