Creighton travelled to Arch Madness in 2000 looking to defend the school’s first tournament title under Dana Altman. After beating Bradley by 9 in the quarterfinals and edging Indiana State in a close semifinal contest, Ryan Sears led the Bluejays into the title game against then-monikered Southwest Missouri State. Sears scored 15 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished 4 assists, and swiped 3 steals in 39 minutes of play, and Creighton locked down on defense in a 57-45 win to seal the championship and a return trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Next week: A few more recent highlights from Creighton’s successful trips to St. Louis.
