Creighton Volleyball Starts the Home Portion of Their 2019 Season in the Annual Bluejay Invitational

The Creighton volleyball team is ready to play at home. The first two weekends of the season had the Bluejays on the road at Nebraska and Cedar Falls in two different invitationals, playing some of the top teams in the nation. This time they host their own invitational with even more potential resume builders.

Sokol Arena plays host to the annual Bluejay Invitational this weekend facing a local rival, a former MVC foe, and the #12 team in the nation.

Omaha will be the first opponent for the Bluejays on Friday. The in-town rival is an up and coming team that is another school showcasing the Nebraska volleyball talent. Also, former Bluejay Jaclyn Taylor will be on the other side of the net.

In the morning matchup on Saturday, Creighton will take on former MVC foe Drake.

In the tournament nightcap on Saturday, Creighton will take on #12 Washington. The Huskies ended Creighton’s season ended last year a in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament at Sokol Arena. The Bluejays will be looking for some redemption in the finale of the event playing in front of their home crowd.

The schedule for the weekend:

  • Friday, September 13th, 6:30 p.m. vs. Omaha
  • Saturday, September 14th, Noon vs. Drake
  • Saturday, September 14th, 7:30 p.m. vs. #12 Washington
