The first time St. Louis hosted the Missouri Valley Conference “Arch Madness” tournament, Bob Harstad led the Creighton Bluejays to the tournament championship. The top seeded team headed into the first Arch Madness tournament, the Bluejays beat Drake by 19 points and Southern Illinois by 5 points before squaring off with Missouri State in the finals. Creighton crushed the Bears 68-52, earning an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament, where they would hand New Mexico State a first-round loss before succumbing to Seton Hall in the second round.

Next week: The MSU Bears receive another championship game beat down by the Bluejays.
