Fox Sports Go Now Available — Creighton Fans Rejoice

Viewing options for Creighton games for next season has just received a boost.  You can now watch Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 on your computer and mobile devices if you are a Cox cable subscriber.

Although there was not much fanfare, Cox Communications announced last week that they have started offering Fox Sports Go to their subscribers.

This announcement is big for Creighton fans.  In the past with the Valley, Creighton fans could pick up the games through ESPN and the WatchESPN app available to a majority of cable subscribers throughout the nation when games weren’t always widely distributed.  With the Bluejays joining the Big East almost a year ago, one of the great perks of the jump was the TV deal the league made with Fox Sports 1.  A majority of men’s basketball games throughout the league’s non-conference and conference schedule were broadcast on FS1 to a national audience.  One of the challenges, however, was being able to watch FS1 if you weren’t watching it on a television and wanted to watch it through an online stream.  The service was not ready when FS1 launched last August and it took a while to get off the ground with limited providers offering the online stream to customers throughout this past basketball season.

Cox Communications is the main cable provider in the Omaha metro.  It was great they listened to the subscriber base and made a smart move to get this added now and get the word out.   When Creighton and the rest of the Big East tie up the laces this next sports season, those subscribers will be able to hop online through their computer or download an app to their Apple device  (At some point there should be an Android app available as well) and pick up the streams of Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 anywhere they have an internet connection.     Give it a try and be ready for the fall.

Update:

For Time Warner customers in Lincoln and the other areas where Time Warner Cable is available, there has been an announcement that they are adding the Fox Sports Go services as well, but it is not officially on the FS Go site yet.
