Creighton made it to the postseason for the 14th straight season. But for the second straight season, the Jays will miss out on the nation’s top two tournaments — the NCAA and the NIT. Last season the Bluejays participated in the CollegeInsider.com tournament and lost to eventual champion and MVC foe, Missouri State. This year Creighton will participate in the College Basketball Invitational.
Over the past five seasons, the only other team to participate in all four of these tournaments — NCAA, NIT, CBI, and CIT — other than Creighton is Austin Peay. It is hard to tell whether that is a good thing or a bad thing. But the Big Dance, it isn’t.
