The CenturyLink Center Omaha was rocking on Tuesday night as the Creighton men’s basketball team took on the #9 (AP) and #11 (Coaches) team in the nation. Once the dust settled, the Bluejays knocked off the Wisconsin Badgers 79-67.
Khyri Thomas scored 18 points on the night, including a final dunk that came as a reward of the tough defense he and the other Bluejays played on the night. The backcourt tandem of Maurice Watson and Marcus Foster scored 17 and 15 points of their own respectively in the win. Justin Patton was a force, in only his second career college game, getting 10 points and 7 rebounds, while seemingly always involved in key plays from beginning to end. Contributions all around from the Jays helped them recover from a first half deficit and a second half full of back and forth battles. They eventually pulled away a bit and came up with some defensive stops to seal the victory in the final minutes.
