The weather played a factor again in a Creighton baseball game. The Bluejays have struggled to get games in because of the weather. They almost didn’t get one in again on Tuesday night at TD Ameritrade Park in the eventual 6-3 loss against Kansas State.
The game was tied 1-1 going in to the fifth inning before the Wildcats scored a run in both the fifth and sixth innings to take a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh. The Bluejays had something going and a chance to cut into the lead, but then the game was delayed due to lightning. When the game resumed, Kansas State was able to get out of the inning.
The Bluejays gave up two more runs in the eighth inning and another in the ninth to go down 6-1. By the time they had something going in the bottom of the 9th, the lead was to much to overcome and Creighton went home with a loss.
