Photo Gallery: Creighton Baseball Falls to Nebraska 6-3

After a tumultuous weather situation in Nebraska the past several weeks with snow, rain, flooding, and cold, the Creighton baseball team took the field at home for the first time this season.  On Tuesday night, however, the Bluejays couldn’t get their bats going early enough and fall to their in-state rivals, Nebraska, 6-3.

The Bluejays got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.  However, the Huskers then scored five runs in the second and third innings to essentially put the game out of reach early.  Hurler Kyle Perry and the Nebraska bullpen held the Jays with four hits through seven innings, and then Nebraska added an insurance run in the top of the seventh.  Creighton mounted a bit of a come back in the eighth and ninth innings to score a couple more runs, but it wasn’t enough.

Creighton trotted out eight pitchers over the nine inning game, while Nebraska used six of their own.
