The Creighton Baseball team was looking to get a monkey off their back by defeating their in-state rival Nebraska. They had come up short in their last seven matchups over the past three seasons. However, on Tuesday night, the Bluejays prevailed in their second opportunity against the Huskers this season with a 4-3 walkoff win at TD Ameritrade Park.
It was a back an forth affair with Nebraska scoring in the 2nd inning to get the early lead. Creighton tied things up in the bottom of the 4th before Nebraska took the lead back in the top of the 5th. Creighton scored two in the sixth inning to take the lead themselves before the Huskers came back to tie it in the seventh.
The teams were tied going into the bottom of the 9th where Brett Murray knocked in Reagan Fowler with one out to let the Jays walk off in victory.
