Photo Gallery: Creighton Men’s Basketball Defeats Alabama in NIT First Round

The Creighton men’s basketball team wanted to play in the NCAA Tournament, just like anyone would, but the consolation prize of the NIT will work to keep a couple of senior’s playing days going.  It also gave some great confidence for the young guys as the Bluejays pulled away for the 72-54 win over Alabama in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament.

Khyri Thomas returned to non-conference form, starting for the injured Isaiah Zierden, and came up big with 15 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.  Pair that with Geoffrey’ Groselle’s double-double (12 pts., 14 reb.) and Maurice Watson’s 20 points, the starters came up big to advance to the second round against either St. Bonaventure or Wagner.

WBR photographers Adam Streur and Brad Williams were at the CenturyLink Center to capture the action.  Visit the WBR photo store to get your favorite shots and enjoy the slideshow gallery below.
