Creighton opened up the 2024-25 season on Wednesday night against UTRGV. They were without one of their expected starters, Pop Isaac’s, and it took a bit for the Jays to get acclimated with some different lineups and the defense is still a work in progress as UTRGV stuck around.
However, Ryan Kalkbrenner had a great matchup and the Jays took advantage of it as he scores 49 points and grabs 11 rebounds to lead the Jays, while Steven Ashworth went 17-17 on free throws that kept the Jays ahead throughout.
