The Dream Season, 20 Years Later: Game 7

Twenty years ago, Jim Hendry and the Creighton Bluejays baseball team began their journey to the program’s first and only trip to the College World Series, one of the greatest accomplishments in Omaha sports history. All spring, White & Blue Review will look back, game by game, at the Bluejays’ own Road to Omaha.

Game 7: Kansas 13, Creighton 11 (March 5, 1991)

Recap: The Kansas Jayhawks rallied from an 8-5 deficit in the night inning, tying the game and sending it to extra innings. Ryan Martindale’s second home run of the game gave the Bluejays an 11-8 lead in the top of the tenth, but Creighton gave up 5 runs in the bottom of the inning as KU handed the Jays their first defeat of the 1991 season.

Star Performers: Ryan Martindale hit 2 home runs while going 4 for 5 against KU.
