Today in Bluejay History (11/18)

November 18, 2006 — Creighton, ranked in the top 25, heads to Lincoln and loses to Nebraska 73-61.

In complete opposite performances for both offenses, the Huskers shot 68% from the field, 57% from 3-point range, and 71% from the free throw line while the Bluejays hot 38% from the field, 34% from long range, and 67% from the charity stripe. CU had fewer turnovers and both teams grabbed 27 rebounds. In fact, NU only corralled a remarkable one offensive rebound … and still won.

The loss eliminated most people’s memory of Nate Funk’s terrific night: the senior scored 28 points (including 7 3-pointers) and committed just 1 turnover in 37 minutes of play.
