November 27, 2001 — Creighton beats #17 Western Kentucky 94-91 in double overtime.

The Bluejays knew they would have their hands full with All-American candidate Chris Marcus. But while the big center posted 22 points and 11 rebounds, he fouled out and committed 5 turnovers.

His counterparts in the paint, starter Joe Dabbert and reserve Brody Deren, outplayed Marcus for much of the game. Deren led all Bluejays with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Dabbert added 14 points and 4 rebounds.

Despite an off night shooting from the field, Kyle Korver added 10 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. And guards Larry House (10 points) and Terrell Taylor (14 points) also scored in double figures.

Creighton gave up two WKU 3-pointers in the last 15 seconds of the first overtime in front of a shocked Civic Auditorium crowd. But it was junior guard DeAnthony Bowden who put the Bluejays ahead for good, drilling a 3-pointer with less than a minute to play in the second overtime.
