Today in Bluejay History (1/14)

January 14, 1986 — Creighton’s Janet Ensign grabs 18 rebounds, the 3rd highest single-game total in CU women’s basketball history.

In the 57-47 road win at Illinois-Chicago, Ensign snagged 18 rebounds for the first of two times in her career — she would record an 18-rebound game in January 1987, as well.

The single-game record for rebounds in Creighton women’s hoops history is 25, set by Anne Timmerman against Saint Mary’s (NE) in January 1977. The best single-game rebounding total since Ensign’s two 18-rebound games came in February 2003, when Christy Neneman grabbed 17 boards against Indiana State.
