Today in Bluejay History (1/15)

January 15, 2000 — Matt West misses a free throw for the first time in 28 attempts.

West entered the game against Drake on what at the time was Creighton’s longest consecutive free throw streak in school history. He missed a free throw against the Bulldogs, snapping his streak at 27. Two weeks later, Kyle Korver would begin a streak that wouldn’t end until November of the 2000-2001 season, again 27 consecutive free throws.

Booker Woodfox set the Creighton consecutive free throw streak last season, making 36 straight shots from December 6, 2008 to January 6, 2009.
