CU rejoined the MVC for the 1977-78 season, finishing 1st in the conference regular season and beating Indiana State 54-52 in the MVC Tournament (held in Omaha). The Bluejays’ season would end against #4 DePaul in the NCAA Tournament, as Creighton suffered an 80-78 loss to the Blue Demons.
