Today in Bluejay History (12/28)

December 28, 1955 — Creighton plays its first game at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.

The Bluejays hosted a late December NAIA Tip-Off Tournament, featuring the first basketball games played at the civic center in downtown Omaha.

Creighton lost to East Texas State 64-58, then would claim wins against Regis (71-64) and Southeast Oklahoma State (72-67) the following days.

The Bluejays started playing all home games at the Civic during the 1961-1962 season, and would play their home games there until the end of the 2002-2003 season.
