January 26, 1985 — Creighton beats Marquette for the first time in 11 years.

The Bluejays, led by Benoit Benjamin’s 26 points, 18 rebounds, and 7 blocked shots, defeated the Golden Warriors 71-59.

Creighton was led in his final season as head coach by Willis Reed, while the Warriors had Rick Majerus on the bench.
