December 8, 2000 — The Creighton men’s soccer team beats Indiana 2-1 in three overtimes in the College Cup national semifinal.

The Hoosiers entered the match as two-time defending national champions. More than 10,000 fans turned out to watch the Bluejays battle back after an early 1-0 deficit. Brian Mullan scored his 18th goal of the season just a few minutes into the second half to tie the game at 1-1.

The two teams would played three extra periods, before Mike Tranchilla sent Creighton to the national championship match with a rebound goal at the 123:53 mark.
