February 14, 2009 — Playing in front of a hostile crowd that loves nothing more than beating Creighton in men’s hoops, the Bluejays destroy Southern Illinois in Carbondale for CU’s largest win at SIU.
Five Bluejays scored in double figures during Creighton’s 82-60 Valentine’s Day Massacre of the Salukis: Booker Woodfox (15), Kaleb Korver (14), Kenny Lawson (13), Kenton Walker (11), and P’Allen Stinnett (11). The Bluejays shot 56.9% from the field, 50% from 3-point range, and outrebounded SIU 35-27.
It was Creighton’s first win in Carbondale since 2001.
