February 19, 1917 — Creighton and Drake meet in men’s basketball for the first time.

The two Midwestern universities first met on the hardwood in 1917, with Drake defeating Creighton 39-27. Including this season’s two-game regular season series, the Bluejays and Bulldogs have played 145 times, the highest total of matchups against one school in Creighton history.

The Bluejays lead the all-time series 88-57, with a resounding 53-19 edge in Omaha. Drake is 36-32 against CU in Des Moines.
