February 24, 2002 — The Creighton Bluejays baseball team commits 6 errors … and wins!
Playing their final game of an early season tournament in Las Vegas, the Bluejays (0-4 to start the season) picked up a 22-15 win against the Michigan State Spartans.
The 6 defensive miscues Creighton committed marks the last time the Bluejays baseball program committed 6 or more errors in a game. In fact, the Jays’ fielding percentage has become a hallmark of the program: in 2009, Creighton led the nation with a .984 fielding percentage, a mark that is the best in NCAA history during the aluminum bat era.
