Today in Bluejay History (3/16)

March 16, 1991 — Two days after beating #15 New Mexico State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Creighton falls to Seton Hall.

The Bluejays led the Pirates 32-31 at halftime, but allowed SHU to shoot 45% from the field in the first 20 minutes. Seton Hall would eclipse that mark in the second half, to the tune of 64% shooting from the floor. The Jays, meanwhile, shot just 41% for the game.

One game after Bob Harstad (13 points, 16 rebounds) and Chad Gallagher (18 points, 14 rebound) combined for 31 points, 30 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots, the Dynamic Duo again put up great numbers: Harstad went for 13 points and 8 rebounds, Gallagher 17 points and 12 boards. But Seton Hall’s Terry Dehere (28 points) and Anthony Avent (17 points, 11 rebounds) led the Pirates to the victory.
