Today in Bluejay History (3/18)

March 18, 2008 — Creighton rallies to beat Rhode Island in the NIT.

The Bluejays trailed by 17 points (31-14) with 6 minutes to play in the first half. Dana Altman’s team would cut into that deficit a few times, but the Jays remained down by 17 with 15 minutes to play in the game. But the Bluejays would go on a 39-21run, capped by the game-winning 3-pointer by Cavel Witter with 3 seconds to play. It was Witter’s only field goal of the night.

Booker Woodfox scored 22 points off the bench and P’Allen Stinnett scored 22 points to lead the Jays, who led just twice all evening: 3-0 and 73-74.
