Today in Bluejay History (3/2)

March 2, 1991 — Latrell Wrightsell records his second 8-steal game in two weeks … both coming against Drake!

In the first round of the MVC postseason tournament, the Creighton Bluejays cruised to a 77-58 win against the Bulldogs, during which Wrightsell swiped 8 steals. That effort tied the second-best single game effort in CU history, one that Wrightsell set himself on Feb. 21, 1991 in Omaha against the same Drake team. That game was closer (69-63) but the Bluejays won it nonetheless, their second of an eight-game win streak that wouldn’t end until the Bluejays lost to Seton Hall in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The two teams would match up a week later in the quarterfinals of Arch Madness, where the Bluejays would prevail yet again.
