Today in Bluejay History (4/18)

April 18, 1996 — Creighton softball collects a school-record number of hits.

Playing the Kangaroos in Kansas City, the Bluejays wrapped out 20 hits against UMKC. At the time the 20 hits were a single-game record for the CU softball program, since eclipsed by the Jays’ 22-hit attack against Drake in 2002.

In fact, three of Creighton’s top single-game hit performances have come against the Kangaroos: CU collected 17 hits against UMKC in games in March 1997 and March 1999.
