Today in Bluejay History (4/3)

April 3, 2007 — Ryan Urzendowski does something unique during a wild 12-10 loss to Nebraska.

Trailing 9-0 in the 2nd inning, the Bluejays would rally to tie the Huskers 9-9 in the sixth inning. During the comeback, Urzendowski stole home, the last time a Bluejay took home plate on a steal.

Both teams would exchange runs in the 7th inning, and Nebraska would take a 12-10 lead into the 9th inning before the Bluejays loaded the bases with 2 outs. Steve Winklemann ripped a ball down the third base line, but NU’s Jake Opitz made a tremendous diving play to catch the ball and end the game.
