Today in Bluejay History (5/21)

May 21, 2009 — Brandon Koenigstein throws a no-hitter against Wichita State in the MVC Tournament.

CU’s Koenigstein threw 7 innings of hitless baseball, as Creighton run-ruled the host Shockers. It was Creighton’s first no-hitter of any length since April 1971, when Larry LeMaster threw a similar 7-inning no-no against Doane.

Koenigstein faced the minimum 21 hitters through his 7 innings of work, allowing just one baserunner (WSU’s Tyler Grimes) who was immediately erased by a double play.
