Today in Bluejay History (9/1)

September 1, 2007 — Dana Altman’s Creighton Bluejays begin their trip to Canada for five exhibition games in three days with a Saturday sweep.

Breaking in a roster full of newcomers that would set the foundation for years to come, Creighton posts a 87-82 win over Saskatchewan in the morning and a 85-77 victory over Calgary in the night cap. Dane Watts paces the Jays in both games, scoring 20 in the first contest and 21 in the second.

Redshirt freshman Kenny Lawson Jr. supports Watts against Saskatchewan, adding 20 points and 4 rebounds in 16 minutes of play.
