Illinois State (13-4, 4-2) @ Drake (7-11, 2-4)

After a losing in Omaha over a week ago to push their losing streak to six games, Drake has started to figure things out a bit. This picked up win at SIU and at home against a falling Missouri State team. The Bulldogs scored a season high 88 points in that game. Adam Templeton had 16 to lead four players in double figures. While they did give up 77, you can’t always rely on scoring to win you ball games. They still have some work to do on the defensive end.
After a disappoint loss to UNI where the high flying Redbirds scored just 44 points, Evansville was next on the schedule. A 14-point win is just what they needed. Llody Phillips had 18 and three other Redbirds scored double figures in the win. Evansville held Osiris Eldridge to just 2 points. Is that good or bad? Bad that he scored so few points but good because his team didn’t need him to score that night. The Redbirds can’t overlook Drake, especially since they will be taking on Creighton Wednesday.
