Arkansas-Little Rock (2-1) vs. Illinois State (2-0)

Jack Stephens Center; Little Rock, AR

2:05 CT

Illinois State will head out on the road for the first time this season when they travel to Little Rock, Arkansas to take on the Trojans of UALR.  The Redbirds will take an undefeated record with them on the road as them will be coming off a 73-68 victory over Tennessee State.

As many Creighton fans are aware, the Trojans can give you all you can ask for, and the Redbirds will need to be sure this game is played at their pace.  The Trojans will be coming off a big victory as they beat the Gregory Cavaliers 108-58.

Bradley (4-0) vs. TCU (2-0)

MassMutual Center, Springfield, MA

4:05 CT

What a game!  In case you missed it, the Bradley Braves played a heart stopping battle against the Trojans of USC yesterday.  With 0.3 seconds on the clock, and down by 2, Sam Maniscalco shot a one footed three pointer that was off for the win.  However, there was a whistle.  Sam stepped to the line, hit three free throws to put the Braves on top and sealed the win.  They will look to carry their momentum into a battle with TCU as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-off.

The Frogs of TCU were able to take care of the Mustangs of SMU in more comfortable fashion as they won 84-64.  This game should be a good match up of two undefeated teams.

Indiana (3-0) vs. Evansville (2-0)

Assembly Hall; Bloomington, IN

12:00 CT

After a couple early season wins at home, Marty Simmons is taking his team on the road to play Indiana, a school Simmons was attended from 1983-1985. It will be an Evansville offense that is averaging nearly 80 points per game against a defense that is allowing just over 52 points per game.  It will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1997 and Indiana has  a 6-0 all-time record against Evansville.

This Hoosier’s team is not a Bob Knight team like we remember.  Tom Crean is slowing and steadily trying to turn the program around.  This season they are working hard on the defensive end.

Southern Illinois (0-2) vs. Austin Peay (2-1)

SIU Arena; Carbondale, IL

2:05 CT

Chicago Invitational Challenge

It’s the first round of the Chicago Invitational Challenge.  Home games today and Tuesday will be followed by weekend games in Chicago Friday and Saturday.  Chris Lowry and the Salukis are still searching for their first win on the young season.  The Salukis were edged in overtime 63-62 by Northestern as part of the ESPN hoops marathon.  John Freeman and Gene Teague lead SIU with 13 each.

Austin Peay have been road warriors this season.  They are playing their fourth straight road game to start the season. They have wins at St. Louis and Chattanooga before falling at Lipscomb.   The Ohio Valley squad is lead in scoring by ThShwan Edmondson with 17.3 ppg.
